Nima is an Iranian-American girl who wants nothing more than to connect with her Persian culture.
While frantically preparing for her grandmother's funeral, she discovers a box that contains passports and documents in farsi, and fragments of artwork that stir deep memories in her mind. But her abundance of questions have no hope of being answered by her father, a hardened man who fled Iran during the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Nima wishes her grandmother were there to guide her - and lo and behold, her grandmother's spirit is conjured in the form of a Jen who is lost in time. She cannot parse through her fragmented memories. Therefore, she cannot transcend to the afterlife in peace.
Desperate to help her ailing, cosmic grandmother, Nima dives into a journey through her family’s history to try to connect the broken pieces. But the magic is splintering, and timelines are folding in on each other.
